Biography

'‘I don’t think clearly when I compose – I find myself in a tranquil state of mind that moves me and simply makes me feel. The output is an outpour of emotions that are almost foreign to me. They’re hidden somewhere deep inside, as if something that’s muted has been set free. Simply stated, this music is the song of the soul.’

Anastasia was born in Bavaria, Germany to parents of Greek descent and currently resides in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She began playing the piano at the age of five and has performed and placed in various classical competitions throughout her childhood. Anastasia has been honored by prestigious organizations such as the National Federation of Music Clubs and the South Carolina Federation of Music Clubs for performances of Beethoven's Pathetique and Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu.

Anastasia's love for composing was inspired by playing contemporary piano pieces by Yann Tiersen and Eugene R. Rocherolle and began with her first compositions at the age of nine. Her debut Reminiscent builds upon these pieces composed throughout her early years, with a style that is reflective, mellow and poignant. Her music is a delicate balance between Classical and New Age and has been described as evocative, stirring and passionate.

Anastasia's second album, a similar classical crossover, is in production, with plans to be released in the latter half of 2018 as an independent record.

Music Reviews

"The first time I heard Anastasia's music, I knew it was a great fit for Solo Piano & New Age radio. I've heard hundreds of solo piano CD's but nothing quite like this. Anastasia's music is a perfect balance of Classical and New Age. Her playing is filled with emotion and easy on the ears. I can't wait for the world to embrace and enjoy her music for years to come."

"Anastasia's stirring solo piano compositions reflect an emotional rainbow of feelings and flights of fantasy. Her classical influences are strongly felt. I'm sure that whatever musical paths Anastasia chooses to follow in the days to come, that they will be as evocative and expressive as the elegant melodies found on Reminiscent."

"Anastasia’s second album, Songs of the Soul, introduces a more mature composer/pianist whose music expresses a range of emotions. Where Reminiscent hinted at Anastasia’s artistic potential, Songs of the Soul presents her artistry fully realized. I love this album!"
