Biography

'‘I don’t think clearly when I compose – I find myself in a tranquil state of mind that moves me and simply makes me feel. The output is an outpour of emotions that are almost foreign to me. They’re hidden somewhere deep inside, as if something that’s muted has been set free. Simply stated, this music is the song of the soul.’

Anastasia was born in Bavaria, Germany to parents of Greek descent, was raised and spent most of her life in the U.S.A, and currently resides in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She began playing the piano at the age of five and has performed and placed in various classical competitions throughout her childhood. Anastasia has been honored by prestigious organizations such as the National Federation of Music Clubs and the South Carolina Federation of Music Clubs for performances of Beethoven's Pathetique and Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu.

Anastasia's love for composing was inspired by playing contemporary piano pieces by Yann Tiersen and Eugene R. Rocherolle and began with her first compositions at the age of nine. Her debut Reminiscent builds upon these pieces composed throughout her early years, with a style that is reflective, mellow and poignant. Her music is a delicate balance between Classical and New Age and has been described as evocative, stirring and passionate.

Anastasia's second album, a similar classical crossover, has been released on July 20th, 2018 as an independent record and has been featured in the top 50 in the Zone Music Reporter charts (Rank 21, July 2018). Her album ‘Songs of the Soul’ has received several awards, including Silver Medal in the Global Music Awards, ‘Best Classical Piano Album’ in the Clouzine International Music Awards and ‘Best Instrumental Artist’ in the Indie Music Channel Awards. Anastasia has also performed music from ‘Songs of the Soul’ in the Berlin Philharmonie as part of the Enlightened Piano Radio Awards Show.
